GirlsIncBASKETBALL HALL OF FAMER NANCY LIEBERMAN BRINGS ‘YES YOU CAN’ MESSAGE TO GIRLS INCORPORATED OF METROPOLITAN DALLAS

 DALLAS, TX –Nancy “Lady Magic” Lieberman, Basketball Hall of Famer, two-time Olympian, broadcaster, motivational speaker, author, and the first female coach of a men’s team under the NBA umbrella, will speak and lead a panel discussion on, “Becoming the Best of the Best:  How Girls Rise Above the Competition” for the benefit of Girls Inc. at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science on Wed., April 10th.  This is the second in a series of three lectures.

Also featuring North Texas Olympic shot-put athlete Michelle Carter and the “400 M Diva” and track star Natasha Hastings, the discussion will focus on girls’ and women’s participation in sports and competition from an Olympian perspective, reflecting on the personal experiences of Lieberman and Carter.

Being held in the Perot Museum’s Sports Hall of Fame where Lieberman is featured, the event is 7:00-8:30 PM.  Guests will be able to explore the Hall of Fame until 9:00 PM.  Parking vouchers will be available for guests using the Museum parking lot.

Hosted by Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas as part of its 2nd Annual Girls Inc. Lecture Series:  What is a Girl?, the 2013 series is in collaboration with the Junior League of Dallas.
